Case Description
Our client, the owner of a large transportation company, was personally sued by one of the company’s employees, who alleged grounds for piercing the corporate veil, in connection with the company’s dealings with the plaintiff. The lawsuit exposed our client to significant risks, including allegations of tax-related offenses raised by the plaintiff.
At the same time, the claim was clearly exploitative and coercive. Accordingly, we sought a creative solution aimed at preventing serious financial harm and avoiding any potential criminal exposure for our client.
