Case Description
Our firm represented residents of Beit Yitzhak who had been asked by the cooperative to vacate plots leased to them for pineapple cultivation and large-scale poultry farming. The clients held perpetually renewable leases, which the cooperative disputed. The cooperative attempted to pressure our clients by conditioning lease renewal on significantly higher payments, fully aware that it profited substantially from solar electricity generated by panels installed on the poultry houses.
We filed defenses and counterclaims in both proceedings, seeking multi-million-shekel damages for breach of the agreements. The matter was handled through arbitration.
Status
The proceedings concluded with a settlement that secured our clients’ rights and allowed them to continue operating the photovoltaic panels.
